Soundtrack Agency is a joint venture between Paul Ryan, David Jaymes and Tom Haxell.

The agency is affiliated with management and music publishing company Spirit Music and Media, and record label Independent Records Ltd.

After a hugely successful career as a professional musician, David Jaymes went on to compose music for advertisements and films with John Du Prez. He became a consultant for Eaton Music Publishing handling the catalogues of Jimmy Webb, Harry Nilsson, George Fenton and Chuck Mangione. From publishing David went into artist management; his first client was Jah Wobble. Later he co-founded Rise Management with Diane Wagg and managed Mike Scott, Beth Orton, Rialto, Republica and Drum Club among others.

Tom Haxell joined Rise Management as General Manager in 1996, after completing a Higher National Diploma in Business Studies within Music Industry Management. He moved into an artists’ management position two years later, focusing on the live and touring side of the Rise roster.

In 2000, David and Tom teamed up to form Spirit Music and Media to manage artists, songwriters and producers. Spirit’s artists roster has included The Wonder Stuff, Sinead O’Connor, Justin Adams, Miles Hunt, Damien Dempsey, Dan Donnelly, Lumiere, Two Spot Gobi, Eoin Glackin, Ghostland and classical cellist Caroline Dale. Spirit also manage the careers of producers, engineers and songwriters John Reynolds, Jonny Male, Tim Dorney, and Jonny Bull.

David and Tom joined forces again in 2003 to co-found Independent Records Limited (IRL), with the aim of putting out releases from a unique and eclectic roster of talent.

Hailed as the ‘biggest little indie in the world’, IRL’s impressive track record has included releasing the first two albums by world music legends Tinariwen, the award winning Festival In The Desert and Ishumar 2 compilations, Sinead O’Connor, Sharon Shannon, The Wonder Stuff, Damien Dempsey, Justin Adams & Juldeh Camara, Malawi Mouse Boys, Miles Hunt & Erica Nockalls, Dan Donnelly, Lo’Jo, Terekaft, Dirty Ray and many many more.

Before founding Soundtrack Agency, Paul carved out a varied career in the music industry working at both promoter and agency side.

During seven years spent as a promoter, Paul worked with a wide range of high profile UK and international acts such as Mumford & Sons, Anna Calvi, Noah and the Whale, Feeder, City and Colour, Editors and Clean Bandit, coordinating shows at venues across London including the Scala, Cargo, Union Chapel and the Water Rats. He began working at agency side at Industry Music Group, where he was responsible for arranging tours and corporate events for X Factor acts and independent artists.

Soundtrack Agency had its inception in 2014, when Paul decided to channel his industry expertise into creating a company to represent emerging and established bands, soloists and singer songwriters. In 2015, Paul went into partnership with David and Tom, expanding the agency’s roster to include artists involved with Spirit and IRL.
